Gamified Group Therapy

Addiction treatment has struggled with low engagement and retention rates, leading to poor long-term outcomes. HaloRecovery is changing that by gamifying group therapy, turning lessons into interactive experiences where clients "play" through the curriculum and must demonstrate understanding to progress.

Studies show a 60% increase in retention, making learning more effective and engaging. Additionally, clients use the same system for daily check-ins, focusing on Mental, Physical, and Spiritual wellness while earning points for marketplace rewards. This approach boosts adherence to recovery plans and keeps alumni engaged post-discharge, ensuring ongoing support and connection beyond treatment.

Traditional addiction treatment has remained unchanged for decades, yet outcomes continue to fall short, and the addiction crisis has only worsened. At HaloRecovery, we are committed to redefining group therapy by integrating gamification into treatment curriculums to improve engagement, retention, and long-term recovery success.

Group therapy is typically conducted in a classroom-like setting for up to six hours per day, but after the first week, engagement drops and clients struggle to retain therapeutic information. Our innovative approach transforms traditional curriculum into an interactive game, where clients “play” through lessons, progressing only when they demonstrate understanding by selecting answers and making choices aligned with the therapy content. Pilot studies show a 60% increase in curriculum retention, proving that gamification keeps clients engaged and learning effectively.

Beyond therapy sessions, clients use the same platform for their daily check-ins, ensuring consistent participation in their recovery. We focus on three key components: Mental, Physical, and Spiritual wellness. Each day, clients record how they will address each area, earning points that can be redeemed in the HaloRecovery Marketplace.

This system increases adherence to individualized recovery plans while also encouraging long-term engagement post-discharge through the Alumni version of the app. By incorporating gamified therapy and structured accountability, we are reshaping addiction treatment to be more engaging, effective, and sustainable—helping clients not just complete treatment, but truly retain and apply what they’ve learned for a lifetime.
